Ryanair and British Airways cancel flights as bookings drop due to coronavirus (COVID-19)


British Airways and Ryanair cancelled hundreds of lights due to the drop in demand over the spread of the coronavirus.

British Airways will cancel 216 flights from 16-28th Mar from London to destinations such as Italy, but also France, Austria, Belgium, Germany and Ireland, and even New York.

Ryanair will cut approximately 25% of flights to and from Italy from 17th Mar to 8th Apr.

Ryanair hasn’t yet specified the number of flights and passengers will be affected on the whole as they reduce flights to airports in regions most affected by the coronavirus.

British Airways has said they will contact customers of cancelled flights to offer rebookings on to other carriers, refunds or another flight with British Airways at a later date.
